Session Breakdown

On May 7th we went into the studio and recorded the song for the class from 5:30pm-10pm. My friend's band squalor came in and banged it out in one session, minus the vocals. We went to my practice space and finished vocals up the other day. Today is Wednesday, May 30th and I am going into studio A tonight 6pm-8pm to finish using my time up mixing and finishing the final mix.

When we recorded on May 7th everything went fairly smooth, I ran into some issues with patching because when I did production plan I forgot some small things and just had to change some inputs for signal path flow. But overall we managed to finish a couple takes on drums and pick the best one, and then we overdubbed guitars. We had the bass player and bass rig set up iso booth, and Andrew the bass player managed to nail bass track, so we kept it and didn't do a bass overdub since we had cab mic'd and had a DI signal for bass, and everything was isolated.

Overall we managed to knock out everything and get everything done and cleaned up before our time was up. I am super excited and happy with how the session went, and Mario was super helpful when i was stuck on small things. Even just listening to the rough tracks, everything sounded so cool. Hopefully, i can get the final mix tight and crisp to show everyone in the studio the last day.
